The details

Conspit built the ARES series as its first direct drive platform, with a professional driver and race engineering team behind it rather than an off-the-shelf industrial servo. The ARES 20 Platinum sits at the top of that line: 20 Nm of holding torque, a 23-bit optical encoder, and a motor structure designed specifically for the demands of a racing simulator.

A motor built for sim racing, not repurposed

Most bases in this class use standard industrial servo motors. Conspit engineered this one around handling feel, steering feedback and stability instead. A dual skewed pole design, on both the stator and the rotor, holds cogging torque under 2.3 percent, so the wheel turns smoothly with no notchiness through slow corners. Torque slew rate reaches 9.5 Nm/ms, which is what lets a kerb strike or a tire letting go arrive as a sharp event rather than a soft one.

23-bit optical encoder

Optical, not magnetic. At the same nominal resolution an optical encoder reads position more accurately and holds that accuracy over years of use. In practice, small corrections register exactly as you make them, and the base does not develop a vague center over time.

Torque you can verify

Conspit validated the ARES with a dynamic torque sensor mounted between the wheel and the motor output shaft, resolving below 0.01 Nm at up to 1 kHz. That measures what actually reaches your hands, not what the motor reports it is doing. It is an unusual amount of work to put into a spec sheet, and it is why the numbers on this page hold up.

CDR or CDP quick release

Pick the quick release that matches the wheels you already own. CDR is Conspit's newer auto-locking system, built to the dimensions most of the sim racing industry has settled on, so it mates with a wide range of third-party wheels. CDP is the three-bolt 50 mm PCD pogo-pin block, with a 50 to 70 mm adapter available. Motor, encoder, housing and torque are identical either way. If you are not sure which your wheel uses, contact us before you order and we will check it.

Built to run long stints

Aerospace-grade aluminum alloy housing with passive heat dissipation, and real-time temperature monitoring that keeps the motor and control system stable deep into a race. Mounting is M6 x 4 on the bottom and M8 x 4 on the sides, so it bolts to a profile rig or a heavy stand in whichever orientation you need. Magnetic POGO contacts on the front face carry future add-on modules, and the optional CES external emergency stop cuts the motor instantly, which matters for coaching, sim racing centers, and letting a kid drive under supervision.

Conspit Link 2.0

Configure the base, tune force feedback, monitor status and save presets per game or per car. Conspit ships official presets built by professional drivers and vehicle dynamics engineers, including Laurin Heinrich, so you start from something sane instead of a wall of sliders.
